Finals week I:

Beat Dragon Age: Origins
Celebrated Hannukah for the first time..
Wrote a six-page paper in three hours, submitted it online nineteen minutes before the deadline.
Took my last math exam EVER. In my LIFE.



I still have:
To know the history of Japanese civilization: pre-history to present day.
To be able to wrote/speak fluent Japanese for the final exam.
To know too much technical nonsense with Linguistics.

So I've decided that, in addition to my double major of Asian Studies and Japanese, I'm going to look into Linguistics as a minor. Yes, that's right -- a double major and a minor. Am I suicidal? Possibly. But I've been looking, and since I want to probably do something with translation upon graduation, I think having a Linguistics minor will make my resume absolutely beautiful.

So I rearranged my schedule for Spring '10 to include another Linguistics course.

OMG.

Still kind of "nyeeh" on it. Based on the download, it seems remarkably similar to Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. By that I mean there's a LOT of customization possible with the character's appearance, but not so much with the actual abilities. Granted, this is only a teaser, so it may be the actual game has far more things to play with... I'll have to wait. But as for this game, a friend down the hall is playing it. AND IT IS SO DAMN PRETTY. Everything about it is gorgeous. The fact that there are six different backgrounds for your character to choose from, meaning six different starting points within the game, just kind of makes me tingle inside. <3

I intended to take screenshots to showcase the beauty of this game, but in the latest string of laptop issues, I can no longer install downloaded programs... meaning that the screengrabber-program I need to take screenshots within the game is not going to work. BOO.

But to continue in that vein, my laptop (Sousuke) has been giving me so many issues it's stopped being hilarious. First error was constant freezing/blue-screening, for which I finally had enough and called Dell. They were all "Please allow me to take control of your computer and..." they did all this stuff. Did I mention I love Indian accents EXCEPT when they're trying to help me with my computer? So frustrating. Regardless, they appear to have fixed teh freezing problem at the cost of me NEVER BEING ABLE TO TURN OFF MY COMPUTER EVER AGAIN. That's right. Windows users should be familiar with automatic updates that install themselves when you shut down your computer. For some strange reason, if I turn my computer off at any point and turn it back on, it goes to the "Downloading updates stage 3 of 3." It will get to 50%, then shut itself down, turn itself back on, and repeat. I have to F8 into the beginning and restore the system every time this happens. Sousuke, prepare for a lifetime of standby. So, I've ordered a new laptop -- the Dell Studio 15. It's a little older model than Sousuke's Studio XPS 13, so it's more reliable; the bugs have been worked out of it. It will be arriving over Thanksgiving Break (F-YES!), and I'll be playing with it then.

Basically, this is Sousuke. I tend to name my laptop something and then have a desktop that incorperates the namesake. This, then, is one of my absolute favorite anime characters: Sagara Sousuke from Full Metal Panic! Sousuke is just so innocent and naive and could TOTALLY KICK ASS! His character just fascinates me; his only knowledge is of military service since he was a child. WAAAH. T_T

I'M TIRED!

And really want to start scheduling my classes for spring. I might be an RA come summer, which will be interesting... *ded*

SO I found out not too long ago that PSU's guidance department Oh wait, they don't like that... PSU's advisers are just about as useful as a solid-gold toilet -- functional, but way over-priced for the job it does. I still don't know how I'm going to end up with the classes I want come spring-scheduling time (which for me is Nov. 2nd, because come spring I'll be a sophomore credit-wise. Yes, I am just that freaking awesome.), andI don't know when/how I'm going to start PAYING for them. It's like the work-car paradox: Pay for honors courses to do the Paterno Fellows Program, do the Paterno Fellows Program to pay for honors courses. To do PFP, I'm required to take three honors classes/school year... since my dumb adviser from summer didn't let me schedule two for fall, I now have to schedule two in the spring. That's not how I like to do things. Hard first semester followed by easy spring semester.

p.s. There aren't honors courses available during the summer. x_x
p.p.s. I wish I had more free time. I've had the urge to game for the past few days. WAAH.
p.p.p.s. Need to watch Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and give a presentation on how it relates to Daoism.

I wish I could say I'm surprised, but I'm really not...

Just finished my final (with about fifty minutes to spare o.0)... one more class, which will probably just be to hand in my last paper, and I'M DONE.  FOREVER!!! For this summer.

Moving my stuff into my fall dorm tomorrow (if everything goes as planned), then going home. TRAINING!!

In related news, I've been working on a Full Metal Panic! AMV. Maybe I'll finish that today SINCE I DON'T HAVE CLASS UNTIL THE FALL SEMESTER!!!

...which is Monday, August 24th.  T_T  That's just over a week, isn't it? *headdesk*

In more related news, I started watching Excel Saga because a friend said to... I don't think I can continue watching it. It's too random even for ME.

In fanfiction news... yeah, I realize I haven't written anything of merit since before the summer semester... my apologies for that. I WILL work on The Revenant Scroll... I promise!

That being said, I need a nap... haven't gotten much any sleep in the past few days...
