As I continue to spout Abridged Series jokes, I'd also like to point out that I've subscribed to TeamDattebayo's Death Note Abridged... it's... okay? -ish? But strangely addicting.
Wow. I just realized that I'm in college, and I'm spending my Friday night watching a children's anime.

One: a nap. Even just good old sleep. It's currently after 2200 on a Friday night, and I'm sitting in my dorm on LJ. LAAAAAAAME.
Two: Assassin's Creed to run smoothly. My processor is evidently just ONE STEP BELOW where it would run optimally, leaving it rather slow on the uptake at some points. I'm there slamming the left-mouse-button screaming "ASSASSINATE, ASSASSINATE!!" ...actually, that's probably a terrible thing to be shouting in a college dorm. Perhaps I should post a sign saying, "Beware of martial artist playing video games"?
I think the people across the hall from me are about to have really obnoxious sex again. That, or they're pre-gaming for one of the many frat parties. Hopefully the latter, as that means those ten to twelve people crammed in that room will be leaving soon.
It's extremely difficult to fanfiction in these conditions... maybe tomorrow (if it's not closed for 4th of July), I'll head to the little bookstore/cafe I found downtown and get my ass in gear on my writing. Or maybe do my homework.
P.S. HAPPY TOMORROW-BIRTHDAY,

Other than that little fiasco, I'm happy to report that the dorms are larger than expected, my roommate is awesome, and the showers are not absolutely horrific. Don't get me wrong; they're still horrific, but at least I'm not terrified of getting pregnant just from stepping inside (wearing shoes, mind you... take the shoes off, and all bets are off). LateNite... too exhausted to participate in any of the activites. Just want to sit here, LJ a little, RP a little, Facebook a little, fanfiction a little... yeah.

p.p.s. I painted a pot. Yes, my first night at college, and me and my roommate painted flower pots. SHUT UP, IT'S FUN!!

Welcome to the Dollsyhouse. |
It started when you slipped. Or it felt like that. You slipped on something--you don't know what--and you fell. And then you were inside a house. And you could not leave. The house was odd, certainly--you found a door that opened to a brick wall, and a staircase to the ceiling with no use you could think of. There's a storeroom on the second floor that hurts your eyes to look at, and daytime has gone on for far too long. But certainly it could be worse. There are bedrooms, and food, and there is company: people like you, who slipped. Some of them are strange, but it's better than nothing. Though it's hard to sleep with the sunlight in your eyes. You wish for nightfall. Then the sun sets, and you take it back. If days are long, nights are longer, and the sounds of construction ring constantly in your ears. And the things come out. Things you had never believed in before--or maybe you had. Either way, the house is dangerous, you realize that now. And again you try to leave. But you can't, of course. The Dollsyhouse welcomes you; it does not wish for its guests to leave just yet. The Dollsyhouse is a multifandom roleplay for ages sixteen and up. Trapped inside a peculiar house, characters explore and try to figure out just what's going on. The days are long, but the nights are longer--and the monsters come out to play at night. And sometimes, when dawn breaks at last, they will find new parts of the house that weren't there before. Surely they're there for a reason--but what that is, they'll have to figure out. |

So I had a $50 gift card to Best Buy and went absolutely nuts... I bought HALO, Assassin's Creed, and Fable: The Lost Chapters.
Started playing Assassin's Creed today, played it for about three hours... I approve. Altair is absolutely AWESOME. I want to be Altair when I grow up. (p.s. It's pronounced al-tai-IR)
Haven't even opened the box for HALO yet...
Tried to install Fable, but IT WON'T WORK. I swear, the gaming gods must have it in for me with all the bugs I keep running into with fantasy RPG's. Anyway, it keeps telling me my product key is invalid when I'm staring STRAIGHT AT IT. Very annoying. Makes me want to use Altair's hidden blade on the CD's.
Further reviews shall follow.
p.p.s. Am simultaneously playing NWN2 over again. Fanfiction? Uhhh... Altair is taking all questions.
p.p.p.s. Assassin's Creed kind of makes me want to withdraw my Sousuke Sagara app from
thedollsyhouse and play as Altair.

In fanfiction news, I am at a block right now in The Revenant Scroll... watching FMP! compulsively probably isn't helping.
In other related news, replaying NWN2 also isn't helping my fanfiction-ing...

In short, the original campaign of NWN2 was absolutely phenomenal, trusting that one took the time to properly patch the game to prevent bugs. The first expansion, Mask of the Betrayer, was... well, the only positive thing I can say is that it concluded loose ends from the original campaign. The second expansion, Storm of Zephir... I'm hating it. I've only played it for about half an hour, and I just can't bring myself to commit to the hours of gameplay expected in a NWN game. More on that follows...
( Review (spoilers in strikeouts) )
In short:
NWN2: 9/10
MotB: 5/10
SoZ: 0/10
In related news, I bought the new Green Day CD off iTunes earlier, and I love it and highly recommend it.
Off to go replay the original campaign to try and romance BISHOP. <3
p.s.: Character creation in NWN2 is amazing; far more customizable than the original NWN.

NWN2 has had more bugs than any other game I have ever played. Ever. My laptop does not have internet access I go somewhere with free WiFi, so I can't just go, "Oops, I needz a patch nao," hop online, and grab it. Oh no. At 2300 hours, when I'm totally focused (to the point of having forgotten to save frequently), the game crashes. Or there's a bug that prevents me from moving forward. Pissed now. I bought NWN2 and its expansion Mask of teh Betrayer simultaneously. I played through a good portion of just NWN2 before installing MotB, but THEN! A bug that prevented me from continuing the main quest!
So I'm a little pissed. I'm at Best Buy on Sunday and go, "NWN2 NEW EXPANSION! HELLS YEAH!" and buy Storm of Zephir. Its installation fixed the previous bug, but GUESS WAT?! THERE BE NEW BUGS.
Have yet to fix latest bug.
Camera angles are bleh if one is used to the original game, but other than that, a fantabulous game if slightly challenging for low-level melee-types. Gets better around level 9 or 10. Playing through as (my favorite!) a monk right now.

In related news, I have the AP English test today, the AP History test tomorrow, and the AP Physics test this coming Monday.

In even more related news, now that I'm somewhat coherent, I have a ridiculous amount of AP Physics to do... not quite sure how/when I'm going to get that done. Not to mention for AP Histoy, the teacher has decided that the week before the actual test, he's pulling us out of first and second period to take a practice test... aka A FULL APUSH TEST. That loveliness will be this Friday, the 1st of May. In AP English, I learned that I might not be in as bad shape as I thought... reading some of the essays that have gotten nines (the highest score for an AP Comp. & Lit. essay), I should either get a one or a nine, depending on whether the reviewer likes my writing style.
IN EVEN MORE RELATED NEWS, I'm going to be driving to Philadelphia to see my godfather... and because Philly is much closer to the place where the test is at than where I live.
